Why the hour matters

LinkedIn tries a new post with a smaller group first. Comments and replies while that test is running are what extend the post. Publish when those people are at their desk.

  • Use their morning

Late morning on a weekday is when most professionals are at a desk and still willing to read. That is the cell to try first.

  • Stay for the first hour

Reply to the early comments before you switch tasks. A post you abandon in the first hour rarely gets a second look.

  • Repeat the slot

Two to five posts a week, in the same part of the day, is enough. Leave several hours between posts so each one gets its own window.

Style the post with the LinkedIn text formatter, or check the length with the LinkedIn character counter.

FAQs

What is the best time to post on LinkedIn?

For a typical professional audience, Tuesday through Thursday around 10–11 AM in their timezone. Monday and Friday late morning are the next best. The heatmap shifts that for company pages, creators, and regions whose work week is different.

What is the best day to post on LinkedIn?

Tuesday and Wednesday, then Thursday. Monday is fine once people have cleared the weekend. Friday afternoon and Sunday are the slots to avoid for an office audience.

Should I use my timezone or my audience’s?

Use the region your readers live in. If you write from New York for people in India, pick India. The hours on the grid are local to the region you select.

Does a company page post at a different time?

Yes. Company pages are scored toward office hours. Evenings and weekends drop. A personal profile, especially one that posts often, can also catch early evening.

Why does the first hour matter?

A new post is shown to a small slice of your network first. Early comments, and your replies, are the signal to show it more widely. Posting when that slice is offline wastes the window.

How often should I post?

Two to five times a week is enough for most people. Keep the same part of the day, and leave several hours between posts so one doesn’t steal attention from the next.

Are weekend posts worth it?

Usually no. The grid drops on Saturday and Sunday for a typical office audience. Saturday late morning is the exception worth a test. In Saudi Arabia and Israel the week runs Sunday to Thursday, so Sunday is a work day and Friday is the quiet one.

Is this my account’s analytics?

No. It is a typical pattern for that region and profile type, not the followers on your account. Use it to pick a starting slot, then keep the hour your own posts actually respond to.

Is this free, and is anything saved?

Yes, it’s free. There’s no sign-up. The grid is built in your browser from the region and profile you pick. Nothing is uploaded.
