LinkedIn doesn't have a bold button. These aren't styled letters — they're different Unicode characters that happen to look bold, so any text field will show them.

Bold and italic skip numbers on purpose — Unicode simply doesn't define styled digits for those two sets. It's a font limit, not a bug here.
Why plain text can look bold and italic on LinkedIn
Every letter you type is really just a number under the hood — a Unicode code point. The regular alphabet has one number per letter, but Unicode also defines separate ranges of “Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols” that render as bold, italic, or monospace versions of the same letters.
This tool swaps each character in your draft for its look-alike from one of those ranges. LinkedIn's editor has no idea it's anything special — as far as it's concerned, it's still just text — so it displays exactly as typed, no rich-text support required.
One honest trade-off: because these are distinct characters rather than styled text, screen readers sometimes read them oddly or skip them. Use bold and italic for short emphasis — a line, a name, a call to action — not for entire paragraphs.

How do I format text on LinkedIn?
LinkedIn doesn't natively support text formatting. This tool uses Unicode symbols that look like bold, italic, underlined, and other styles, so you can paste styled text directly into your LinkedIn posts, comments, and messages.
Can I format only part of my post?
Yes. Select the words you want to change and click the bold, italic, underline, or strikethrough button in the toolbar. Clicking the same button again removes the style. With nothing selected, the toolbar applies to the whole post.
Is the styled text searchable and accessible?
Keep in mind formatted (Unicode) text isn't searchable on LinkedIn, may render differently across devices, and isn't read reliably by screen readers. Use it to highlight key points, not for entire posts.
